Self-determination and human-rights are categories that Scottish politicians happily bandy-about regarding oppressed foreign peoples but never use in relation to their own people.

That's because they rarely if ever think off these things in any context other than electioneering.

The lad's trying and maybe when he realises just what a trap devolution is he might go further..one can hope. Leave him to think on't..but Swiney and co ?...a lost cause..

I don't see devolution as a treadmill just a trap that we fell into by agreeing to abide by it. It's a whip that crashes down on us if we dare to try anything the foreign english don't allow cos it's 'devolved' Not allowed to remove nuclear warheads from our land....foreign. soldiers..american... on our land without us knowing... ....not being in control of immigration or who the Foreign Office dump on Glasgow.. having foreign politicians..Trump ...invited to OUR land without asking us .not knowing who the foreign english government is in cahoots with....if Stammer goes to war with Russia..so do we.....ad infinitum. But we can put a tax on plastic bags without asking..I think....( need to check up on that..the rules might have changed)

We are a sad wee abused colony being dragged along by an english government out of control..even the english people are taking them to court....as council workers tear down the english flag ( St George) as being 'too divisive.'....fingers crossed that westminster will implode..then we can escape......apart from all out war I see no escape route...

For OUR Scotland and her weans.

"It's quite obviously a strategy to try and get the SNP re-elected without advancing the cause of independence," writes Ross Greer.

It is truly shocking that the aspiring leader of a small political party that has Scottish independent statehood very much as a second or third 'priority' is able to confidently call out the leader of the supposedly major (and historically only) 'party of independence' for so obviously deploying the carrot and stick approach to restoring the country's full self-government as a means of swindling ballots for the real purpose of re-election.
