OMG... it's like looking back at a photo of yourself when you were young, slim and fit ( In both meanings of the word) and realising just how much you've let yourself go and lost your lust for life! These SNP members of 1946 must be so pissed off or are spinning in their graves that we're not yet independent and at how unfit for purpose the leadership of the party they worked hard to build has become. A :night of the long knives' ( figuratively speaking) within the SNP is urgently needed

Why do the 'paragraphs' disappear within the comments, Peter?

I have no idea. But I do know there are some strange behaviours on this platform. I'v had a few comments disappear while I was still writing. When things like that happen and they can't fix it, they just call it a 'feature'.

I love it and admit my loud 'YES', at the statement ..

"... So long as for every Pole admitted, two English bureaucrats are thrown out."

Where are such people today, within the SNP Party, who have the brass necks to call themselves a/the Party of/for Scottish Independence.

They're liars and not even a pale imitation of those fantastic Scots in that article 'from yesteryear'!

Haste the day, when the foreign English Establishment and their cohorts, are thrown out of Scotland.

Never, have any of the foreign English Colonialist oppressors, been 'a friend or ally' of Scotland or we Scots!

Our history is that of the English foreigners, invading and thieving from Scotland ..

and thus it continues.

Aided and abetted by the foreign ENGLISH political Parties and a political COMPANY, inhabiting Branch Offices IN Scotland, to work against the best interests of Scotland and WE her people.

With a now fully-fledged treacherous Devolutionist-amnesiac SNP Party, who've forgotten whom they serve and to whom they'll eventually answer!

The ONLY hope left for the SNP to survive as a Party, is the total removal of the SNP HIERARCHY.

They've destroyed the 'Soul' of what was a Party for WE Scots, unafraid to take on the foreign English Establishment or their mouthpieces in Scotland, at that time.

The SNP HIERARCHY have and are betraying we who voted, joined, supported and donated to put and keep them in power.

They've been betraying us for over ten years, but their 'shoogly peg on which they're perched', will not long hold, unless every one of the HIERARCHY are booted out and the SNP reverts to the raison d'etre of the Party.

It must be ta ta to Swinney, Forbes, Robertson, Brown etc ...!

Haste the day the foreign English Colonialists will be 'booted out' of our Scottish Nation and our lives IN PERPETUITY!

Haste the day!

The modus operandi of the British State & Intelligence Service has always been to infiltrate and control. The known examples of this are numerous and the most recent & glaringly obvious of thus has been the complete eviceration of UK Labour as anything even remotely resembling a party of the Working Class.

Given this why do we still refer to the SNP as being an Independence Part and not what they actually are an apparatus of the British State.

I think you infer this, but until we use the day to day language that actually lays this bare, we always leave them wriggle room to create enough space to retain a following.

Raising this without looking conspiratorial I know is difficult, but unless we do, things will only remain the same.

The problem with attacking the SNP in such terms is that we still need them. Even if the party could be 'destroyed', we have nothing better to replace it.

But it is not going to be 'destroyed'. According to polling - which is the best information we have - the SNP is going to be the biggest party in Holyrood after the election and therefore the party of government. It will dominate.

The logic is plain. We have to seize back the SNP from the appalling clique which has hijacked it. There really is no choice in this. Nothing can be done to progress Scotland's cause without ALL the (nominally) pro-independence parties being on board. That's realpolitik.

We have to take back our government. Meaning, we must take back the party of government. Which we must assume will be the SNP. The alternative is another five years of inaction while our nation is stripped bare.

This realpolitik is so obvious it is perplexing that the M$I Petirion hasn't taken off like a rocket. The independence movement is split in three (at least). The party loyalists who are more concerned with a win for their tribe than liberation for their country. The SNP haters who are blinded by that hatred to reality and driven to seek magical solutions. The former insist the SNP doesn't need to change. The latter insist it cannot be changed. So, no change is guaranteed.

The third group is the people who have realised what a waste of time it is switching votes around among parties which are all equally useless to Scotland's cause. We have to force those parties to change their approach to the constitutional issue.

The third group is far too small to have much impact. So, we're almost certainly fucked. But I have to try. And #ScottishUDI is the only thing that works. So, I have to push that even if I get nowhere.
