Do I hate Nicola Sturgeon? No. Am I disappointed that she did not further the independence cause more than she did. Sadly yes. Enough that I quit the party last year. Do I think that she was complicit in the embezzlement by her husband? I'm going to take an reasonably educated guess here and say no. She is a wealthy lady, currently worth something north of a million pounds, The Murrells had a combined income of around £250k yearly. She has released her book and would have been well compensated on the speaking circuit for life, before this scandal erupted.
So, it transpires that her husband embezzled £400k over a dozen years. That equates to roughly £35k per year. Spread over 12 months, that's only £3k a month. That is a lot to me on my current income, but to someone with a household income of a quarter of a million a year, that isn't really that noticeable.
So I ask myself, why would Nicola Sturgeon jeopardise her entire future and the risk of a jail sentence for what effectively amounted to "chicken feed" in the grand scheme of things? She would have to be a complete idiot to believe that being involved in a £3k a month crime was worth losing everything. Her freedom, her credibility, her home, everything. She may be a lot of things to a lot of people, but she is not an idiot. The people thinking that she willingly took part in all of Murrell's crimes fit the description of an idiot far more adequately than Nicola ever would.
I think it is far more likely that the breakdown of her marriage and her decision to step down as First Minister coincided with her finding out that her husband was up to his neck in troubles, of the criminal kind. She was left with limited choices once the scandal erupted. Was she prepared to drop her husband in deep sh*t and go straight to the authorities and come clean about what she finally knew at the tail end of things? That's a tough ask for any couple who still care about one another. She will have taken legal advice from a whole team of solicitors and will have acted accordingly, like any sensible person would do.
Epilogue.....
She'll live comfortably for the rest of her days, but with a perpetual dark cloud hanging over her. Her husband will go to jail for being the perpetrator of the embezzlement. Neither one is going to live happily ever after. I'm sure there will be many clowns out there who will have thought up all of the "really pertinent" questions they feel that Police Scotland, the CID, and the entire court system forgot to ask. Nothing new there I guess. Apparently it has already cost over £2million pounds to process a £400k theft. Do we really need a Parliamentary enquiry that will cost even more and one which will be armed with far less powers than the UK legal system? I'm going to put my "sensible" hat on here and say no.
Lol 🤣 you've made me laugh, especially your optimistic claim.
If Nicola Sturgeon isn't idiotic, who is? All the people who voted for her, all the NEC members apart from the few who resigned protesting, all the finance committee members, the treasurer, her husband? You have plenty to choose from, absolutely no shortage of idiots, but only one is featuring on a fifty minute BBC show protesting her innocence and demanding to keep all the stolen goods because it wisnae her that stole them!
Nicola Sturgeon, Humza Yousaf, John Swinney and dozens of others on SNP committees, some holding office for this or that, and those on the NEC are all guilty. They're all guilty of something. Some should be in jail imo. Others should be apologising.
Hours of fun are available figuring out all the 'hate' or whatever, but the SNP and its senior people are caught in a trap, albeit a trap of their own making. They are all trapped in a 'government' busily pretending to be more than it is.
One other thing. Do these total clowns employ a team of private detectives to spy on their spouses or partners 24/7 - or are there some things they just take on trust? Well, do you, punks?
I had the misfortune to see a bit of Good Morning Breakfast, with various assholes spattering toast and beans all over the place in their farting presumptions about Sturgeon "must have known". Whatever happened to the cornerstone of Justice - innocent unless proven guilty? God help us all if any of them are called up for jury duty.
I said years ago that Sturgeon is naive. She trusts the wrong people. Nothing has changed.
I didn't listen to the BBC interview of Sturgeon either, mainly because I find her head-butting dogmatic style so grating.
The moment I lost trust was at the end of the criminal trial of Alex Salmond when, on the announcement that the latter had been acquitted of all 14 charges, Nicola Sturgeon still managed to cast doubt on the jury's decision by saying that their conclusions didn't mean that the behaviour he was of accused of hadn't happened (or words to that effect).
From there, after some background research and digging, the evidence of her duplicity on numerous matters mounted up.
Her time as SNP leader and FM was all self-obsession, self-righteousness, self-identification and selfies when it should have been focussed on self-determination. On the contrary Nicola Sturgeon and her backers blocked any advance on Scotland's Cause each and every time glaring opportunities presented themselves between 2014 and 2023. (We all know what they were so no need to list them.)
As to the loyalists, they behave like a cult. The moment true believers in a single faith allow the light of reality to shine into their lives is the moment their whole world view falls apart. The have bound themselves so tightly to the Sturgeon bandwagon that they have become etched into the gubbins of the vehicle itself. If the chose try to extricate themselves from it now they would probably leave behind a limb or two. A new philosophy would then be required ... and that is hard for those that have difficulty thinking for themselves.
It would seem there is a lot more to come on the SNP missing money (embezzlement and other fraud) and in other legal matters coming down the pipe.
We can only hope that eventually that the dangers of developing a cult of personality where scrutiny is denied and questions closed down are finally recognised and their associated harsh lessons are learned.
You are about to get a tongue lashing Peter. Sturgeon is no different from all the self serving politicians who have betrayed this country..north or south of our border. Westminster awash with paedos...Johnson and his gold wallpaper and parties during Covid...Mandy..dirty wee man.... Stammer assisting him in his career...McSweeney.... his pal..Mandy....baroness Mone off somewhere hiding in the Carribbean on a yacht maybe ..millions disappeared during Covid..helped by others ...a 'royal family' hiding a paedol....low cheating creatures...and YOU are focussing on ane wee wumman fighting to survive because of a criminal husband...hardly a word said about that wee b*st*rd. Sturgeon is gone...end of...She now has to live with whatever she did ..the worst offence..she's going to live in foreign england...that I call betrayal....and she is no longer of any interest to me.
Horses punish wrong doers in the pack by turning their backs and excluding them. This is dangerous for the horse as it no longer has protection from the pack and will now be isolated and at risk to predators..scary.
I read/watch nothing about her ..she does not exist for me and I move on watching for the next cheat...and independence for our nation.
I donated £100 this morning to the SNP...because they are a Scottish political party taking dogs abuse from the b*st*rd evil foreign english press......and I don't allow that in my country.
Scotland must move on..watching for the next attack by the evil foreigners who have invaded OUR country and now feel empowered to attack again and again using any reason. They are a criminal devious parasitic entity trying to destroy Scotland...helping themselves to whatever they can grab ... insulting us at the same time. Sturgeon doesn't come close to them. They are the ones to be attacked and destroyed.
I doubt if her credibility will ever be restored. Irreparably damaged and with her political career now untenable, apart from a damaged profile and a healthy personal bank-balance, what else did she achieve for Scotland's liberation during her over-long tenure in Bute House? Promises, promises ... I could continue, but what would be the point?
You are not alone in your thoughts on these matters.
At least Robin McAlpine has also been ploughing his lonely furrow being villified for pointing out things that have, are and will continue to go wrong and being unrelentingly attacked for it.
Perhaps one day children will be taught how to avoid charlatans and confidence tricksters at school, much as they will be taught how to evaluate state and commercial propaganda and how money really works.

I’m one of the haters. I trust my opinion, and critical thinking skills.
She belongs in jail.

We are all guilty of encouraging the pretence.
My thoughts exactly but much more eloquently said.

I'm no fan of Tommy Sheppard. But he is right with much of this:

Members were just money fodder.
Very perceptive and the closest yet to understanding the real sturgeon.

For OUR Scotland and her tough weans.
