Interesting article Peter. This quote came instantly to mind re the 'cunning plan'.

Baldrick: Don't worry Mr B ( Blackadder) I have a cunning plan to solve the problem.

Blackadder: Yes Baldrick let us not forget that you tried to solve the problem of your mother's low ceiling by cutting off her head.

Personally I was impressed by Shere Khan ( Scotland) in Jungle Book who when Kaa the snake (westminster) tried to mesmerise him .. bashed his large paw down hard on Kaa's head saying.."I've no time for this sort of nonsense'...

The idea of letting the demented unionists in for 5 years is a bit like letting the fox into the henhouse. Hoping that the 'renewed' SNP will gallop to the rescue. I read that a fox did actually get himself trapped in a henhouse and the hens pecked him to death.. so hope springs eternal

We need an honest Scottish media. We need a National Fund for use in the the War for Scotland's Independence. We need some balls like the Free Irish.

Cunning plan? Naw Jimmy...just plain old fashioned Scottish thrawness wi' a dash o' ferocity that will send the foreign english homewards ...an' if they want to think again that's up tae them..we'll still be here...Independent and waiting....

For OUR Scotland and her weans!

The thing is if we allow Labour in power in Scotland and England ……….. they will work towards at best softer devolution or at worst abolishing Holyrood, and the Scottish Unionist parties will gleefully follow. !!!!!!

A political party happily standing on a lower step in any Scots political coalition is as likely to happen as Scots naturalists rediscovering the unicorn alive and well on Kinnoull Hill. Irrespective of the possible benefit to Scots independence, the party egos would never embrace the ignominy of being second or third in the race to the top, and consequently second or third in decision making. A common manifesto like you have stated, is surely an easier hook to swallow for any of the so called "independence parties". I don't care if they all fight over the minutiae afterwards, as long as there is a shared goal of progressing our extrication from this god awful union. Despite my long held reservations about Alba, I will happily vote SNP 1, Alba 2 if I believed it would make a positive difference. At present I am left in limbo, as none of the parties are drawing battle lines against the tide of British Nationalism that is sweeping over Englandshire, and sadly, also making it's way into Scots cities, as shown by the recent Reform vote in Hamilton. Were Hamiltonians giving the SNP another bloody nose to try to wake them up and start smelling the coffee? Time will tell, but it is a worrying sign in my opinion.

Agreed...albeit I think a taste of Broke Britain and Sarwar would give a reaction towards independence.

As the patriot Oliver Brown said...the tide for Independence increases each cycle and taken at the flood is unstoppable. ....to paraphrase.
