Fucking fire Central Station already part collapsed. Jesus the times I've passed through there. We were going by train tomorrow. A bit of history gone forever.

They need to shut all vape shops until they can be fully fire certified. Fucking ridiculous if that is the cause. But it might stop at the old (not George) corner hotel please.

Later - looks like a lot of smoke and steam in later pictures, and no flames in the station or central hotel. Hope for the station itself.

Why didn't someone just stick a couple of petrol pumps and an open BBQ pit in the vacant unit next door? Muppets. We were there today. Sadness and anger. Must be thousands of times I've been past there for a train over many years.

Sad but true Pete. One thing I would take issue with though is your statement regarding the reasons for the strength of the expected SNP vote. You have said that their lead is "mainly due to voter inertia and partisan tribalism". I can think of a far more important factor, and that is the fact that whilst the SNP will do little or nothing to progress our independence, cause they have become a "damage limitation" choice for many of us. An SNP government in Scotland will see the continuation of the many free services that have benefitted many of us. Farage as an alternative, has said that he will seek "levelling up" North of the border. That statement should be extremely worrying to all Scots, as his idea of levelling up will actually turn out to be a very painful and costly levelling down. We will see all the free tuition, free prescriptions, free care etc, drawing level with Englandshire should he become prominent in either parliament. That would hit Scotland pretty hard in my opinion. Other than that minor point, I am inclined to agree with all the other points you have made. Torrid times ahead amigo. :(

Collectively the Independence 'movement' has been behaving over the last 5-10 years like that most dangerous of animals ... a clever sheep.

Once they get an idea into their heads, there's no shifting it.

This is particularly so when it comes to the snake oil being packaged up as wizardry or sorcery that will somehow enable us to express our popular sovereignty on the form of government that is best suited to our needs.

Meanwhile some get over-excited about a 1% increase in one or other of the opinion polls surveying sentiment on the constitutional question as if it makes any difference when there is no prospect of, or plan for, the proper exercise of Scotland's right of self-determination in the foreseeable future.

Others cling to the mistaken belief that if only 'Scots' had been allowed to vote in the last referendum we'd be free now.

Still more think all we have to do is bribe the entirely mythical 'soft No' population with the prospect of an extra £500 or so per year in disposable income (as a result of the country independent statehood being returned and) they will all back Scotland's Cause.

But no matter how often the fatal flaws in these magic plans are pointed out and the bogus claims debunked pro-Independence folks seem to cling to them it seems as if their life depended on them.

As someone once said (quite often): I despair!

Put your finger on it Peter...

"what matters ,however. is not the Name of the Party

but the NATURE OF THE COMMITMENT to restoring INDEPENDENCE". ( Peter A. Bell)

And there it is..the cold hard facts....

We do not have a pro independence party that actually realise they were voted in by the Scottish people to regain our freedom.Maybe they have been distracted by :

* a comfy sinecure.... hopefully ad infinitum....

* or they are seduced by the excrement pedalled by the invaders..the hostile foreign english represented by their media propaganda...

But whatever the reason they have lost their way and are content to sit on their brains in Holyrood hoping the rest of us don't notice.

You mentioned in your piece that -

"people vote according to what they feel - not what they know" ( Peter A Bell)

And there it is again....we know nothing...only what the enemy allows us to read in their 300 year hostIle foreign english PROPAGANDA. And as information is the lifeblood of a nation....we are slowly dying for want of truth.

People power is a rare commodity and only appears at the nth hour....are we beyond that and finished?

'Faith moves mountains but only KNOWLEDGE moves them to the right place.'...(where's Goebbels when you need him...)

For OUR Scotland and her moribund weans.
