"as well as the fallacy that a Section 30 referendum can lead to the restoration of Scotland’s independence"

This persistent nonsense spoils so many of your articles - and is almost certainly why the manifesto for independence which includes it, failed and will always fail, to attract support from any more than a few hundred individuals, and not one single political party.

A Section 30 was at the heart of the 2014 referendum and just about everybody who voted apart from maybe a handful of eccentrics, were absolutely and correctly certain a YES would lead to Independence, and a NO would not, barring world war 3 or total planet earth depopulation. Plus every single worldwide reporter, commentator, journalist, everyone capable of rationality.

What on earth is the point of persisting with such arrant nonsense as this? Can't someone you respect have a quiet word in your shell-like to save your blushes?

And no, you do not have any intellectual superiority over anybody.

"Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp’s latest marketing wheeze will be regarded as a godsend by the SNP leadership"

Lest alert readers imagine that this current initiative has just come along at a fortuitous time and Swinney will be relieved by the support it gives, well no.

This just happens to be the next post election event in a calendar of events that BiS has planned with the SNP as a pre planned schedule to run over the 12 months until may 2027.

So get used to it. The 'Independence Industry' is determined to show that it is doing stuff and is not irrelevant. And the SNP approach is definitely not do nothing. Definitely not. No siree.

Look at all the indepenence activity. Look!

By their own utterances Gordon MacIntrye-Kemp and John Swinney are the helping hands that solder Scotland, and her people, to the British state.

In absolute total agreement with your final paragraph. I bring up the rear with my Lochaber tae emphasise its truth...because I believe the time for talking and voting is finished. Action required. We are going nowhere with the grunters squatting and squealing in the trough in Unholyrood.

The FREE Irish saw the FOREIGN english for what they are.... a pathetic nation of colonising parasites draining their land ..so grabbed the bull by the horns ..painful..but by god they chased the invasive species know as the parasitic FOREIGN english..oot their country..and the turds huvnae gone back. I wonder why? It's called cowardice....'they don't like it up 'em'...so true.Bannockburn an excellent example..but we have forgotten how to do it.

My only complaint against the FREE Irish is they didnae finish the job completely...but left thatcher alive tae destroy Scotland's industrial infrastructure ..which carries on to this day in the form of a scorched earth policy. Slowly destroying what they don't need the FOREIGN embedded tic fattens itself up... while Scotland lives up to her name of 'the sick man of Europe'....

I cannot emphasise the word FOREIGN enough. The english are a FOREIGN nation squatting in OUR land..what's not to understand about that? They not only steal from us but from our future generations to come. I'll say it one more time...They are FOREIGNERS..not our clan...GREEDY THIEVING FOREIGN english invaders. They have to go...before we are no more as a nation but just a northerly outpost for the FOREIGN english to live off.

Excellent article from you Peter.

For OUR Scotland and her weans.

These continual anti-English tirades are a Unionist's wet dream. Douglas Alexander would be so proud of you for trying so hard to put off people from voting YES for Independence.
